Kernel Hearts brings two creative cultures together

Kernel Hearts has arrived on Xbox, and its creators have shared the influences behind the action RPG. The game places magical heroines in conflict with angels within a world inspired by a post-apocalyptic Patagonia.

Ephemera Games describes Japanese influences on the art and storytelling, alongside details drawn from the team’s Argentine home. The project began as a game-jam idea in 2020. Its developer feature explores how character personalities and cultural references became part of the setting and moment-to-moment experience.
